Guns you like

Post by Fabarmshooter on Wed Jul 14, 2010 12:58 pm

I think we should start a discussion about each gun we use, why we use them, and such, and inform people of stats that might be wrong in the game and such.

A good example of this is Rolling Block vs Carcano. I know that many people thinks the Carcano is more powerful, but as the wikia says, the carcano needs a headshot to kill in one shot, while the Rolling Block doesn't, it kills instantly in the torso as well. also, the carcano har a faster ROF between the 5 shots in the clip, but i think it is better with the rolling block, as it has a steady fire rate through your whole amount of ammo.

Just an example, but an important one...

I love the bolt action.
It kills in 2 shots usually, always 3 if you hit them each time.
It's also faster than the Buffalo Rifle, so if you're quick enough, you can win against them.

yeah, but if you use my lock on adjustment technique with normal aiming modus, you just lock on to a guy and move the reticle up to his head, and it will be locked on at that point, allowing for easy one-shot killing headshots. This works with the springfield as well, and most guns in shorter ranges...

Ever since i switched to Expert aim i tend to use more handguns as when i was working with casual aim. Down here you find a top 3 of my favorite weaponry.

Handguns:

1. Semi-automatic pistol
2. Mauser
3. Le Mat revolver

Rifles:

1. Bolt action rifle
2. Buffoalo rifle
3. Springfield rifle
Most favorite rifle with scope: rolling block rifle

Repeaters:

1. Evans repeater
2. Henry repeater

Most favorite shotgun: Double barrel shotgun

Toughts on weapons who should not be in RDR:

High power pistol: a 1993 pistol does not belong in a western enviremont.

Most crappy weapons: Cattleman revolver, Schofield revolver.

UNAGREED!! Twisted Evil

High power pistol: you have switched out an "0" with a "9", it's from 1903, an FN Browning in 9 mm.

Secondly, the schofield has an awesome range for a handgun, and works perfectly at NPCs, with a fire rate that kills fast enough but doesn't waste your amount of ammo.

Rather remove the Spencer (repeater carabine), as it was one of the most powerful repeaters in that time (.56, i think), but it is here the weakest of all long arms. Remove unrealistic guns or make them realistic, especially the single shot springfield with a trap-door with 4 rounds, wtf?? in the handgun part, i understand that they can't leave ALL of the handguns in .44 or .45 to be really powerful, as the cattleman, for instance (SA Colt Army 1873, a.k.a peacemaker).

And even though the mauser had only a 7.63 mm round, it had an awesome speed, giving it a wonderful range. The HPP (FN Browning in 9 x 20 mm SR Browning Long cartridge) is one of the weakest guns in this game, was supposed to be, together with the volcanic with some sort of rocket bullet thing in .34 or .36.

And fact is, if a game would be really realistic, it would also be really boring if one shot of EVERY DAMNED GUN in this game would kill in the torso...

Andy, go into profile, into preferences, and there'll be an option somewhere to automatically add in a sig.

Also, who cares about the guns being more realistic, they're grand the way they are.
